As a sculptor, a two-dimensional project seemed insurmountable to me;
Then I thought of Evgen Bavcar, this blind artist, photographer of light, wind, absolute traveler, this Slovenian poet who fed my questions, and allowed me to understand that, through each of my creative acts, it is the mental image of the world that I was looking for, always at the margin of the invisible.
So in line with the purpose of the project, I was surprised to close my eyes.
My movements were changed;
My visual perception transformed.
My gaze has gone towards impalpable images, those that vibrate with the wind, disappear with the night, those that will miss who does not look at them, or that only words will give birth.
Along the canal, the plane trees and their reflections took their true autonomy. They make for us the connection between the underground world and the air world, the body and the spirit, they speak of eternity and fugacity; Time lives on them.
For you, I have frozen their movement, the light has detached its contours; Your fingers for a moment will understand their messages.
Competition organised by the association « Art beyond the Eye » The aim of the project is to promote the participation of the blind public in the emotions of art, nature and culture.
This association is in possession of a thermal printer, which allows the relief of black ink. By this method the printing of Braille writing and any other black and white image is palpable to the touch.
As my proposal was not accepted by the unseen jury, I re-directed my approach to a floating image and its shadow carried as an abyss of the photographed subject.
